Wireless Speakers
I decided to leave those powerful loudspeakers aside for a bit and let you know about the latest in wireless and mobile speakers. Sony Rolly sure looks interesting, but I’m actually referring to Logitech’s Pure-Fi Mobile Bluetooth speaker bar.
Logitech’s more traditional-looking sound bar Packs the A2DP Bluetooth profile for stereo audio, as well as a standard 3.5mm input jack. This way you can easily stream music from PMPs, cellphones or laptops. Incorporating two microphones, the Pure-Fi Mobile serves double-duty as a portable Bluetooth speakerphone.
The controls are top-mounted an they include dedicated cellphone answer/end buttons, so you can leave your PMP or mobile in your bag with the hands-free interface turned on. Having two microphones also means the Pure-Fi Mobile can offer background noise-reduction. How does this work? Simple: one microphone follows your conversation and the other is monitoring and blocking noisy background sounds. Logitech say that the latest Bluetooth technology offers 33 feet (10m) wireless range… nothing new here.
On the power-consumption side, the rechargeable batteries will provide approximately 12 hours of continuous playing time, and there’s a battery-life indicator at lets you know when things get cranky. Logitech thought USB recharging can prove a bit awkward in case you don’t have a PC handy and they decided to include an AC adaptor, as well.
Quality sounds are provided via a set of 2-inch high-excursion drivers and dual 2-inch pressure drivers. Other accessories include a travel case, together with a 3.5mm audio cable and USB cable. The Pure-Fi Mobile is already available for $149.99
