The Best Computer Speakers

Whether you like to watch movies on your computer, or to play games or listen to music, you will definitely need some computer speakers. You can stay with just the ones you received with the computer, but they usually are not so powerful and good. So that's why you will need to buy some new speakers. There are some options for you; first you can get a 2.1 audio system, that means 2 speakers and a subwoofer. It is better than the classical stereo speakers, but it won't bring you a surround sound. For that you will need a 5.1 or 7.1 system (that means 5 or 7 speakers plus a subwoofer). They are pretty cool and will bring you a great audio experience. You will feel like being in a club when listening to loud music, or you will get cool sensations when playing a game or watching a movie; for example hear a bullet passing above your head, or feel like someone is attacking you from behind

Either if you want some stereo speakers or a surround system, there are many audio equipment producers to choose from. Some of the most famous companies are Genius, Logitech, Klipsch, Harman Kardon, Creative, Bose, JBL and Altec Lansing. They each offer a wide variety of speakers, in different sizes, shapes and prices. Now we will talk more about some of the best computer speakers. By "best" we mean a high ratio between quality and price. We will talk about affordable speakers, and not about those who costs somewhere around 1.000 dollars. Even if those are really good, they can not be bought by any home user.

A good rated 2.1 audio system, by both specialist and home users is the  Logitech Z Cinema Surround Sound 2.1. It is specially made for watching movies with a very good quality surround sound with only 2 satellite speakers and a subwoofer. It has a simple but cool design and will give you a good sound experience. The mid range sounds are clear and the bass is powerful without too much distortion even when played at loud volume. Many professional audio sites rate it 4 stars out of 5 or 8 out of 10, and that means it is a good sound system. Many had compared it to a 5.1 system, but let's not forget that this is only a 2.1 system! One of the bad things about this system is that it doesn't go very loud. The official price is a little high (299 dollars) but you can find it much cheaper on sites like ebay.com or amazon.com. It can even go as low as 80 $.

Logitech is among the best audio producers for the home users, with low prices and good quality products. So it also offers some of the cheap and best 5.1 systems on the market. This is the Logitech X - 540 5.1. You can find at prices between 65 - 90 dollars and you will be really satisfied with it. It is actually very popular and if you'll ask an audio specialist what system should you buy for under 100 $, he will definitely recommend this one. It will bring a complete audio experience with clear highs and a deep bass. It is also good looking and the satellite speakers can be adjusted to be mounted on a wall, and it also comes with a wired control for power, volume, bass and headphones jack. After all this system will not let you down at all, and you will be satisfied to spend just about 80 dollars for such a good product.

Another good 2.1 speakers system comes from Altec Lansing and is called "expressionist PLUS". It is a very unique and interesting music system, with an interesting design and a good sound quality. It is composed of two adjustable satellites which deliver pure full-spectrum sounds, and a small but powerful subwoofer which lets you save space under or on your desktop, and which brings a deep and cool bass. An interesting feature is the positioning of the on / off button, which is exactly on top of the subwoofer. It's not very powerful (it has a total power of 33 Watts RMS) but it is perfect for a small room or a crowded office.

Another high rated 2.1 system is the GigaWorks T3. It brings music to you as you never heard it before. It has a nice and simple design, but an outstanding technology, and it gives a new level of quality in music listening, whether you play it from you Personal Computer (PC), MAC or MP3 player. The two smaller satellites offer a good quality to the mid range and high sounds, and the subwoofer brings you the lower sounds. The combination of these three levels will bring a new dimension to your music. By turning the bass really loud, it can give you the feeling that you are in your favorite club or disco, even though you are in your own room. The system also has an eco-friendly low stand by power technology for reducing the electricity consumption in stand by mode.

Let's also present some good stereo speakers. These are the Bose Companion 2 series II. Even though the price (99 $) is bigger than many of the 2.1 systems this is actually a correct price because they can be really compared with a 2.1 system. And you can do this due to its great sound quality of the low frequencies. So if you prefer to have a deep and pronounced bass from your speakers, and you just don't have enough space for a subwoofer, these are the speakers for you! But if you like a more balanced sound with good highs and mids beside the bass, then you should pick a different audio system.

These were just some of the best computer speakers and of course there are many more others, it all depends on what are you looking for. There are some good speakers for watching a movie, there are others especially made for gaming and some are perfect for listening to music. Here it also depends on the preferences of each one, because some speakers may be perfect for listening to some rock music, but they won't be so good when playing a house track, and the other way around.
