Like we said it's producing electronics…all sort of electronic products. But today we are going to focus on just one of these categories: the speakers. Actually we are not going to talk about Sony speakers in general, but we are going to discuss just the Sony iPod speakers. The company is offering many models, so you’ll have where to choose from.

If you are really not in touch with the latest gadgets, and you don’t know what an iPod is, then you should know it is a very small portable music player. It is very popular among teenagers all over the world, and it actually is the best selling digital music player ever. But even though it is so small, it has a good memory and you will be able to store hundred or even thousands of songs on it. So it is much better than an old walkman that used cassettes or than a CD player that could store just about 20 songs. Usually an iPod comes with headphones, but for these times when you want to share the music with other people, you can buy some iPod speakers or docking devices. There are many on the market, and almost every big audio producer on the market is offering a few models.
So today we are going to present some of the models offered by Sony. Usually the iPod docks are made in one piece, which have 2 included stereo speakers. But Sony came with something different, it practically made a 2.1 audio system for the iPod. This is the AIR SW 10 Ti model, which is composed out of a classic docking device (with two stereo speakers) and also a subwoofer. So this way you will have both a nice sound from the speakers and a deep and powerful bass from the subwoofer. Each speaker has a power of 5 watts rms, while the subwoofer has a great power of 50 watts. So you could definitely use this device to throw a party in your own room, or when traveling somewhere, for example in a hotel room or a log. The system also features 4 built-in equalizer presets, allowing you to choose the appropriate sound for your type of music. But even if you don’t have your iPod with you, you can still play some music from this device because it has an included FM tuner so you can listen to your favorite radio station. The device also comes with a useful remote control, allowing you to operate it from anywhere in the room. It also has a easy to read 1 line LCD display. Sorry, we forgot to mention that the subwoofer is wireless, making it more easy to carry and to be installed anywhere you go. The dock has dimensions of 310 x 121 x 164 mm and a weight of 2 kg while the subwoofer has 123 x 282 x 375 mm and weighs 4 kg. The whole system is not so small and lightweight after all, but you can carry it in the trunk of your car, or in a bigger back pack. Enjoy it!
Now let’s talk about a classic iPod speaker, and we’ll choose the SRS GU 10 iP model. This one looks practically like a speaker, to be more precise a center channel. It has a wooden cabinet with a high gloss black piano finish. So it will look great on your desk or anywhere in the room, or on the road. It is also compatible with the iPhone, and when you will be receiving a phone call the music will stop allowing you to hear the phone ringing. This model also has an useful remote control, allowing you to have total control on the tracks and volumes from distance. It also features a bass boost function that will make the bass sound louder and better. It is also magnetically shielded so there won’t be any noises when the iPhone is ringing. It even has a input jack allowing you to connect it to a computer or any other audio device. It has a total power of 20 watts, which is pretty good for a small iPod speaker. It measures 320 mm W x 194 mm H x 154 mm D, and weighs just 2 kg.
Another simple, but good iPod speaker from Sony is the ICF C1 iPM K2. This one also has 2 included stereo speakers, each with a power of 3 watts rms. This is not much, but it can be ok for a small room, or when used on the road or somewhere where you don’t need quite a loud volume to not annoy other people. It has a wireless remote control, and also another cool feature: an alarm clock that will allow you to wake up on your favorite music from the iPod. This one can be also used as an FM / AM radio. It has dimensions of 300 mm W x 130 mm H x 139 mm D, and weighs around 2.5 kg.

Now let’s discuss about the Sony SRS GD 50 IP speaker system, which is called by the producer “ a perfect marriage of iPod dock and PC speakers”. This is also a 2.1 audio system, made of 2 speakers and a subwoofer. But beside these 3 components it also has a small iPod dock, where you can also place your iPhone. So you can enjoy your music from both the computer when being at home, or from the iPod when being somewhere else. The speakers can achieve a total output power of 60 watts (10 watts for each speaker and 40 for the subwoofer). The frequency response goes from 85 hz to 20 khz, and the speakers are also magnetically shielded. So you can use the close to a monitor or TV, and also near your iPhone. The satellite speakers have dimensions of: 4.92" Height x 3.07" Width x 3.74" Depth and each one weighs around 14 oz.
Another model offered by Sony is the ZS S2 IP Black Sony CD Boombox. This one is a combination between the classical stereo CD player, and the new iPod speakers. So it looks and acts just like a CD player, but it also has a dock for your iPod. And beside this it also has a AM / FM tuner. So you will always have something to listen to, whether it is music from your iPod, from a CD or from the radio. The speakers will bring a good sound, with quite a nice bass due to the Mega Bass technology. It also has a remote control, giving you total control over it. Enjoy!

So here were some of the models of iPod speakers from Sony. But of course there are more, and you can discover all of them on the official site of the company, or in retail stores and retail sites on the internet. If you are already using, or used some iPod speakers from Sony, please share all your opinions with us, and tell us if you were pleased with them or not. Have a great day!
