Sony Giga Jukes

I sometimes find myself in that position where you have to delete data or burn a fair number of DVDs in order to free some space on my HDD for new music, films, programs or games. Annoying thing, but Sony’s figured out the music problem. Yep, it’s them Asians again.

The two new "Giga Juke" music systems are all about music storage made simple, without the need for a PC. Or I could just buy a couple of 1TB HDDs. Anyway, both audio systems have hard disk storage of their own, not to mention the high-speed copying feature from their built-in CD player to the HDD. Moreover, the systems have radio tuners and an iPod dock, meaning you can store all your iTunes stuff plus record some digital radio music as well.

First, there’s the entry-level NAS-E35HD aimed at the entry-level market. Then we take a giant leap for our ears and audio desires with the NAS-SC55PKE - a complete multi-room system with music server and wireless player unit, able to deliver music to up to five zones, wirelessly.

The Giga Jukes can store, label and organize your music in their hard disk drive using alien technology. Heh, not really, but them Asians could be getting some hints from the green guys... The NAS-SC55PKE has enough storage space for up to 40,000 music tracks, while the NAS-E35HD stores up to 15,000 music tracks. Both systems can record music from CD, vinyl, cassette, radio and MP3 players, automatically label transferred music with metadata. OK, time to put those cassette players and turntables to work, save and remaster those oldies while they still work.
