Powered Computer Speakers

There are still bigger models of speakers like in the old times, but there are also very small ones, that are capable of giving a great sound quality. But the speakers didn’t evolved just in size…the also evolved in terms of wires and connectivity. Today it is not necessary to have a lot of wires to connect a speaker to a computer or to another music player device, because there are wireless speakers. These don’t have any wires, and they communicate with the transmitter through radio waves.

These days it is not even necessary to have an AC power source to make your speakers work. There are still many models of powered computer speakers, but there are also a lot of speakers that are working with batteries. But the latest technology doesn’t require an AC power source , and doesn’t require batteries either. So you might wonder where the speakers will get their power from. Well the answer is…from the computer. And we are talking here about the USB speakers.
They are connected to the computer through an USB cable, and this is the only cable they have. It is for both the audio signal, and the power. So you simply connect the speakers with the computer through the USB cable, and they won’t need any batteries or power source, and you won’t even need a sound card. The signal for these speakers remains digital all the way, meaning that the sound quality will be better.
But the greatest advantage for the USB speakers is their portability. Since more and more people are buying a laptop, and since the speakers from the laptop don’t sound so good, many are buying some USB speakers for their notebook. They are usually small and portable, so you can take them anywhere with you, and connect them to the laptop anytime you want, by simply plugging them into the USB port. There are many models of USB speakers on the market, made by different producers, but today we are going to discuss about one model, and we’ll choose the Creative Labs N 400 portable notebook speakers.

These devices cost around 60 dollars, but they also sound really good. There are 2 stereo speakers, unlike other USB speakers that are composed out of just one unit. They are featuring a X- Fi technology (Extreme Fidelity) and this will expand the sound, taking it from a simple stereo sound to a complex surround sound. They are small, lightweight, and they also come with a useful carrying case, so they are really portable speakers. Here was just one model of USB speaker, but of course there are so many more on the market. So if you wish to have some portable speakers and use them with your laptop, or if you simply want some small speakers for your home, that have just a single cable, then you should definitely buy some of this category.
