Logitech Squeezebox Duet Network Music System

Logitech’s Squeezebox Duet is a complex music system that gives you access to digital music from anywhere in your home wirelessly, with the innovative controller, a full-color LCD display and a compact receiver.
For these capabilities, Squeezebox Duet was awarded at Customer Electronics Show 2008.

It is based on the latest technologies to let you browse wirelessly, select and play your music on the existing stereo speakers from any room of your home, and you don’t need to keep the computer on for that.

According to the latest studies of IDC research firm, approximately 65% of adults and over 86% of people between 18 and 24 years old are using their personal computers to listen to music.
It seems that this year, additional 95 million people will pay for having access to online music services.

Let’s see what Robin Selden, vice president and general manager of Logitech’s Streaming Media business unit, had to say:
“Even though more and more people are using their computers to listen to music from a wide variety of sources, there is no convenient way to listen to digital music throughout the home – until now. The Squeezebox Duet provides instant access to all the music people love – whether it’s from their personal library, from Internet radio stations or from the growing number of online subscription services.”

I was saying about the innovative system controller. Well, it has a 2.4-inch LCD display with full-color and is a multi-room device which uses a scroll wheel, friendly menus, and intuitive buttons, to allow you to browse your play list, the Internet radio and the online subscription services.
You can search the songs by artist, play lists, albums, genres and lots of other categories, while on the nice display you can see album art or you may customize the wallpaper.

The Receiver is wireless and compact, fitting in any room and coming with complex audio rendering technologies for the best sound quality.
It uses 802.11g wireless technology to remove the need for tangled wires and to give you more freedom.
If you add more receivers you will be able to use the same controller, Squeezebox Duet’s.

I was also saying that the network sound system allows you to control music without turning on the PC, and it is possible with the help of SqueezeNetwork, the Logitech’s unique Internet service, an open-source platform at which you need to register first.
After this step you will have access to thousands of radio stations and millions of tracks, or you can listen to your personal music collection after putting the songs on the network.

Logitech Squeezebox Duet will have a starting price of $400 and will be available this month.
