Legacy Audio – Helix
Published by Bogdan Alex, on April 8th, 2008, in the categories: Legacy Audio

Helix is said to be the result of seven years of auditory research and driver development led by Legacy Audio's chief designer and founder, Bill Dudleston. This loudspeaker hides an entire system of intricate circuitry that applies cutting edge technologies to address critical performance areas neglected by other manufacturers. Here are some highlights for the Helix loudspeaker:
• preserves clarity by avoiding early room reflections.
• is time coherent due to a unique digital matrix steering unit.
• broadens the listening "sweet spot" via longer projection.
• delivers greater than 120 dB of SPL full spectrum.
• utilizes separate amplification for each drive section.
Dudlestone even claims that the Helix system is so accurate it’s able to fully reproduce the weight of a full orchestra. In this sense, Helix will reproduce the authority of full tympani, the bite of brazen brass and the gnawing energy of massed strings, then suddenly articulate levels as soft as a whisper. Helix is also e studio-grade loudspeaker that can transports you to the recording venue and it can also be used in themed clubs, whether it's an intimate jazz club or Lincoln Center.
Don’t you worry about the price. It’s somewhere around $38K for a couple of these babies, but you’re not really interested into buying these, right? You’re here because you want to know about cool speakers.
