Many of you have already used an iPod…or at least heard about it. It is the best selling digital music player in history, with millions of devices sold all over the world. The iPod was launched in 2001 by the famous company Apple, and since then it had a great success. It is a really small and portable music player. But even though it is so small, this doesn’t mean that it can store just a few songs.
Actually it can store hundreds and even thousands of songs, so it is much better than the older CD players (that needed audio CD-s, that had just 10 or 15 songs). There are 4 models of iPods, each one with 2 or 3 generations. They are: the iPod Classic, the iPod Nano (that has video capabilities), the iPod Touch (that has a touchscreen technology) and also the iPod Shuffle (which is the smallest one). Some models are also capable of storing other file types, such as games, videos, mails, documents and so on. But the main purpose of an iPod remains the music playing.

So each model of iPod comes with a set of headphones, which you can use to enjoy your favorite music without disturbing the other people around you. But in case you want to share the sound with your friends, then you must use some iPod travel speakers. These are usually small and portable devices, that have integrated speakers and also a docking place for the iPod. So you just take the iPod and the speaker with you, place the iPod into its place, and enjoy the music.
There are many models of iPod speakers, offered by many producers and today we are going to discuss about one of them, the Altec Lansing iM 9 portable audio system. It has a price of 200 dollars and it will offer you quite a good sound for your iPod. With a weight of just 4 lbs it is easy to carry and you can take it anywhere you go. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a carrying case, but you can place it in your backpack or luggage.

It has a simple black design and it works with a power cord or with four C batteries. You can use it with your iPod, but you can also connect it to a CD or MP3 player, thanks to its AUX IN input. The sound offered will have a high quality and also a high volume and the device is also shock resistant in case you drop it while you are on the road. Most of the users that bought this speaker were really happy with it, and that’s why the overall rating is 4.3 out of 5 stars. And other professional sites that reviewed this speaker were also very pleased with it, giving the perfect score: 5 out of 5 stars.
