Indoor/Outdoor Stereo Speakers

The computers had evolved so much in the last decades, and along with them all of their components had evolved too. So the internal components got smaller and smaller but also more powerful, the monitors got thinner and thinner but also with a higher quality, and the computer speakers also got smaller and with advanced technologies included.

Most of the new computers come with a default set of speakers, and these are usually some small stereo speakers, that don’t sound so good. And that’s why many people are choosing to buy some new speakers for their computer. There are many possibilities for you…for example you can buy an audio system.

These can be 2.1 systems (that have 2 stereo speakers and a subwoofer) or surround sound systems (5.1 or 7.1 – that have 4 or 6 satellite speakers, a subwoofer and a center channel). These systems sound really good, and they will offer you a complex and powerful audio experience. You can also have a really great sound by using some floor-standing speakers. These are really big and heavy, and they can bring an even more powerful sound than a surround sound system.

In case you don’t want something really powerful to rock your house, and you are looking for some “mobile” speakers, that can be used in any room of your house, and also outside the house, then you can choose some wireless stereo speakers. As the name says these are special speakers that have no wires. They come with a transmitter that must be connected to the computer (or other audio source) and this transmitter will send the audio signal through radio waves all the way to the speakers.

But of course you can ‘t go as far as you want, and you must stay in the specified range from the transmitter. Depending on the environment, some speakers may not even work in the specified range, and you will need to get even closer. For example if the specified range is 200 feet and between the speakers and the transmitter there are many walls and obstacles, they might work at maximum 150 feet.

It is known that the wireless technology is not very good yet, and there can be interferences on the speakers. Some of them may interfere with devices around your home, but you can avoid this by changing the position of the speakers, or searching for the right frequency. But anyway…if you really want some speakers with no wires, that will give you total freedom of placing them indoor or outdoor, then you can definitely choose some wireless speakers.

There are many models of wireless speakers on the market, and one of them is the Advent AW 820. The system is composed out of two separate speakers, that can run on batteries (which are not included). Each speaker has a 4 inch woofer and a 1 inch tweeter, meaning that they will give a complex sound with  both high frequency sounds and bass. Each speaker offers 10 watts RMS of power, which is quite ok for some small speakers like this. The maximum transmission range is up to 300 feet (depending on the environment) and the frequency response goes from as low as 30 Hz to as high as 20.000 hz. As we said they can run on batteries, but also with AC power, and the adapter is included. And the price form theme is around 230 dollars, depending on the store you get them from.
