Home Stereo Speakers

The home stereo speaker system is made out of various big and small components, each of them of great importance. One of the most important components of the home stereo speaker system is the audio amplifier because it is responsible for performing the major function of amplification of the sound. The way in which these amplifiers work is simple: they receive low frequency signals which they then turn into high frequency signals. This means that they convert hundreds of megawatts into thousand megawatts.

Another important accessory when it comes to the home stereo speakers is the stereo receiver. The receiver has lots of tasks and duties, such as powering the speakers, switching from audio to video more, tuning in the AM and the FM radio stations, and allowing you to configure the sound of the speakers in the way in which you would enjoy the most.

There are various speakers on a home speaker system and in what follows I am going to give you some information about them. The first speaker is the center speaker and this can be considered he most important one. As you might have imagined, the center speaker is usually positioned in the center of the room. It is able to provide the best sound quality-wise, so I would recommend you not to go cheap when you choose it. I would also suggest that you buy a center speaker which is of the same brand as the front speakers. If you don’t, the timbres of the center speakers and of the front speakers might not complement each other and because of that the quality of the sound will be reduced. The size of the center and front speakers should be relatively the same.

The front speakers are the speakers that you will place on both sides of the center speaker, and that is why they are also called left and right speakers. They are very large; in fact they are the largest speakers from all the system. Make sure that they have the same timbre and power as the center speaker. The surround speakers should be compatible with all the other speakers from the system but they can have a different timbre. Their main task is to produce 3D effects and this is why the timbre is not too important. There are two types of surround speakers: monopole, which deliver the sound into a single direction and dipole, which split the sound into two directions.

The subwoofer is the speaker which generates the bass and it is very important when watching movies. Don’t make the same mistake that most of the people do, which is to set the bass to maximum because then the sound quality will be reduced.
