In the last decade, you might have seen that speaker designs are made keeping in mind the great accuracy, low distortion and higher resolution but with such little features, you can not make a good quality speakers. Best thing with Zu’s speaker is that instead of following typical wire binding concept, Essence got copper clamp to secure cables of this speaker. While reviewing Essence, different brand of cables were used but when it was hooked up with ZuLibtec speaker cable, Essence was at its best and using Zu interconnect cables, sound quality gets more clear and sharper.

Essence is entirely different and has got distinct design. Paint used on it includes Diamond Dust Black and Diamond Dust. You can go for any kind of shade like metal flake, pearl, gloss, iridescent etc on your speakers. Due to small ribbon tweeters, vertical dispersion of Essence is limited means if any person stood up, he may lost treble of the sound.The designs are so perfect that these speakers’ looks like gangbusters. The soundstage of Essence is spacious as it follows stereo ideal and according to great speaker designers, stereo is combining form of ‘solid’, ‘solid body’ with unique recording quality and this is what Essence has got. In earlier Zu speakers like Druid, ZuRG system was installed by using absorptive material and fastening it with inner cabinet walls but the new approach of putting foam portion in middle is far better as with this concept one can tune up to much wide range of frequencies. Another difference between old and new model is that of refinements. Dual-cone unit is assembled with Zu and this product proves to be much consistent at the time of manufacture.

You might have noticed that there are end number of companies manufacturing speakers, woofers, sub-woofers each delivering different quality that is why it gets quite difficult to select the best among the rest but little bit of study on the internet is enough to get you what you actually are looking for. Druid MK4 is actually a complete rework of our ground-breaking Druid loudspeaker and features a proprietary super-tweeter CNC machined from billet aluminum. ZU wanted to provide hi-fi sound for budget audiophiles and decided to include their own B3 silver alloy internal cabling. They have also reengineered the inner connector-to-cable-to-voice-coil termination with the elimination of solder joints. Furthermore, they have raised the tolerance levels on the Zu260FR-G2 driver and the appropriate motor.

The new ZU-T1super-tweeter was reinforced with a high pass network and silver alloy leadouts. Additionally, the super-tweeter leadouts have been shortened to 25cm and terminated directly with the main B3 harness at the voice coil.

All these improvements give the Druid MK4 an increased resolution, bass extension, better amplitude linearity with reduced noise, overall better sound detail, soundstage depth and texture, more instrument color and a playback presence that really recreates the dynamic range of a live performance.
