Searching for a new bookshelf full-range loudspeaker? Snell Acoustics claims it’s got one of the best bookshelf monitors out there, in the form of J7. It only measures 16-inches high, but don’t be fooled by its size. The J7 can reproduce bass as well as most tower speakers.

J7 was developed by Snell’s chief engineer, Joe D’Appolito Ph.D. Thanks to its flawless design, the J7 makes for one of the best two-way monitors with a very low resonance. It also includes a silk dome tweeter, and a long excursion 6.5-inch woofer. The crossover system is carefully constructed with dedicated circuit boards for both tweeter and woofer. The advanced circuitry allows you to bi-amp or bi-wire the J7 and still gets a crisp and profound sound.

In order to match you bookshelf, the J7 comes in black painted walnut and natural cherry enclosures. Custom wood and paint finishes are also available, at extra charge.

Here are some other highlights for the J7 two-way bookshelf loudspeaker:
• May be placed vertically or horizontally
• Includes boundary switching
• 105 dB output in typical living room
• Bass to 40Hz

Snell J7 can be found at online retailers for about $1800 a pair.
