Ever heard of Renkus-Heinz? Yep, me neither. But it turns out these guys manufacture some of the tallest loudspeakers out there. Call them the skyscrapers of loudspeakers, if you will. The tallest system Renkus-Heinz offers is the Iconyx IC32 which integrates 32 drivers. You want high-quality speaker? You got it, and this time it gets really high, literally.

The skyscraper loudspeakers are meant to be placed in public buildings. The guys over at Renkus-Heinz explain that these buildings are designed to convey strong messages, but the high ceilings and reflective surfaces of institutional architecture produce long reverberation times, making it difficult for people to communicate. The Iconyx Digitally Steerable Arrays are the first solution that enable communications and musical quality artistic expression without compromising the architectural statement of the building itself.

The entire Iconyx line-up features some of the latest technologies in sound control and improved performance. In order to deliver high-performance sound, Renkus-Heinz chose to integrate purpose-designed coaxial transducers.

Sound control is facilitated through intelligent solutions. Thus the Iconyx’ Transparent Technology controls acoustic energy using silicon integrates, not bulky, brute-force techniques. Each and every Iconyx array element is precisely controlled with the aid of multi-channel Class D digital amplifiers with integral DSP engines.

Although the IC32 model looks imposing, these arrays are designed for easy transport, installation and service. The extruded aluminum shell, heavy-duty grille and weatherized transducers make the Iconyx loudspeakers viable for indoors and outdoors environments.

Renkus-Heinz even designed these loudspeakers to perfectly blend with the architectural features. This way you are able to hear sounds clearly, without necessarily seeing the daunting heights of the loudspeaker.

Now comes the best part – the price. If we’re talking about public buildings, we immediately think of large sums of money. No surprise here, the IC32 model is priced at an “affordable” price of £ 20,282.26 including VAT. For more tech specs, check the official Renkus-Heinz page.
