The Absolute Zero is actually the successor for the 1993 SuperZero model. The new model features an accurate 5.25″ woofer encased in a frame made from BMC (Bulk Molding Compound), a cost-effective material that is stiff enough, but easily shaped into acoustically ideal forms.
This finish is then sealed with 2 coats of automotive grade clear-coat to protect the cabinet for years.

By using materials such as MDF (a cost effective manufacturing technique that uses wood residues) and avoiding exotic wood veneers in the construction of their cabinets, NHT makes acoustically sound, furniture-grade cabinets that are environmentally friendly and affordable to produce. The cabinets are finally sealed with 2 coats of automotive grade clear-coat to protect the cabinet for years.
