Here’s an obscure brand name (pun intended) with a funny denomination. NAIM (I think you don’t actually pronounce it like ‘name’) is a UK loudspeaker and hi-fi equipment manufacturer that is responsible for the DBL lineup. What’s DBL? This would be NAIM’s best floorstanding loudspeaker array.

The Naim DBL integrates the enhanced separate box technology to produce a fully-decoupled, three-way, dynamic loudspeaker. The DBL system is also equipped with a very wide bandwidth. There is a massive fifteen-inch bass driver mounted in its own enclosure (the bottom cabinet) and vented downwards into the large L-shaped chamber which forms the main body of the loudspeaker and includes the integral stand.

The top cabinet houses the midrange driver and the tweeter. The midrange driver is slotting and damping the cabinet front panel itself, while the tweeter has its own suspension plate mounting.

The DBL can work as either active or passive loudspeaker. Passive operation makes use of the PXO3 crossover unit, and the active mode uses the SNAXO 362 electronic crossover and either three stereo or six mono amplifiers.

Here is a detailed list of the tech specs:

- Frequency response (in room)	17Hz – 20kHz ± 3dB
- Sensitivity 92dB/1W/1m
- Impedance 4 Ohms (minimum)
- Power handling 200W (music programme)
- Dimensions H x W x D 1200mm x 650mm x 400mm
- Finish options include Cherry Maple/Piano Black [to special order]

The DBL series is not for the budget buyers. Two of these loudspeakers can set you back £14,275.00.
