Linn Artikulat Hi-Fi System

This time I found something about some cool speakers from Linn. Yeah, Linn, a US loudspeakers brand name for those who haven’t heard of it. They got several arrays, but the one that caught my eye was the Artikulat one.
The Artikulat series integrates some of the most advanced technologies that Linn came up with, including active servo bass, an enhanced 3K driver array and Chakra high-efficiency power amplification.
The impressive 3K driver is capable of reproducing a high frequency spectrum. It’s actually a precision machined die-cast component that houses the mid-range, high-frequency and super high-frequency drivers. Linn specifically designed it to ensure an exceptionally wide horizontal and vertical dispersion, precise high-frequency response and single point source accuracy.
Analyzing the Aktiv Servo-Driven Bass System, we find out that the technology behind it provides power for the bass and uses an accelerometer in each of the independently controlled bass drive-units to measure the precise motion of the drive-unit and compare the movement against the original input signal. This way, the servo-driven bass compensates for any difference that would distort sounds.
Additionally, the entire Artikulat loudspeaker array comes standard with the Chakra system, which implements the latest in ‘Silent Power’ amplification technology. Chakra offers significantly increased power, reliability and efficiency, while at the same time producing less heat, less distortion and using fewer components than traditional power amplification designs.
Talking about the price for such an array… well, it’s way up high. Like $70K up high. I really don’t know how they build these speakers. Are they using some expensive robots to assemble them?
