Apple Computer Speakers

If you are in touch with the latest technologies and gadgets, you definitely heard about hardware products such as Macintosh computers, iPods, iPhones, iPads and software products such as iTunes or the Mac OS X operating systems. In case you are wondering what all of these products have in common, the answer is: they are all produced by the same company which is Apple.

Apple is a big multinational corporation that was founded many years ago in 1976 in California, United States. Since then it continued to grow bigger and bigger and expand all over the world. In January 2010 it had 284 locations situated on all the continents and around 35.000 employees. It is producing all sorts of electronic devices such as: consumer electronics, computer software and servers.

Since it is producing computers and notebooks, the company also offers some speakers for them. If you’ll visit the official site of the company you will notice that it sells many speakers from other producers (such as Creative, Bose, JBL, M-Audio, Bang & Olufsen etc), but it also has some speakers produced by it.

So today we’ll discuss about some Apple computer speakers and we’ll begin with the iHome iHM79 Rechargeable mini speakers. These are very small and also interesting looking speakers that come at a price of 49 dollars. But even though they are so small they come with a surprisingly big sound. Since they have such dimensions they are highly portable, so you can use them with your iPod or iPhone, but also with other music devices.

They are collapsible speakers, so when you are traveling you can put them together and expand them only when you are using them. So this way you save a lot of space in your luggage. They work with built in rechargeable lithium ion batteries, so when you are going on a long trip, be sure to recharge the speakers before leaving. But you don’t need to recharge them from a socket, because they are recharging from a computer (or laptop) through the USB port.

So if you are traveling with your notebook you can always keep them connected, and use them as long as your notebook is working. They are available in many colors so they are great for any place: home, office, hotel room, for travels, picnics and so on. Each of the two speakers has dimensions of (H x W x D): 1.42 x 2.09 x 2.09 in. / 36 x 53 x 53 mm and a weight of just 1.92 oz./54.43 g.

Now let’s choose some other speakers made by Apple, for example the iHome iP71 BRC Computer Speakers with iPhone / iPod Syncing/ Charging Dock. So these are quite great speakers because they can work with both a computer or an iPod / iPhone. They are a combination of computer speakers with iPod docks. They sound quite good and they have a total power of 15 watts RMS. And this is quite good for some small speakers like this, considering that most of the small stereo speakers have less power.

Each speaker has dimensions of W x H x D ): 3.2 x 8.5 x 7.5 in. / 8.13 x 21.59 x 19.05 computers and they also come with a very useful remote control that has all the functions you need. They are compatible with most of the iPod and iPhone models and they also have pretty good ratings and reviews given by those who already used them. So this means that they were quite pleased with these speakers.

From what we can see on the official site, these are the 2 only models of speakers produced by Apple. But of course Apple is not an audio producer, and that’s why it is best to combine Apple computers or notebooks with speakers made by audio specialists, such as the companies we mentioned before (Creative, Bose, JBL, M-Audio, Bang & Olufsen, Harman Kardon, Altec Lansing and so on).
