The company was founded in 1979 by two men : Andy Kotsatos and Fran Reed. Today it makes speakers for home and also for the car industry. It is designing and producing all sorts of speakers such as subwoofers, satellites, midrange, and many others. In 2005 it was bought by D & M Holdings and today it operates as a subsidiary of this company.

The next category of speakers offered by the company are the floor standing speakers. these are usually big and heavy speakers, with the aspect of a tower, and they must be placed directly on the floor. The speaker that makes the difference between a normal sound, and a deep and powerful sound is the subwoofer. This one will give you the sensation that you are in a disco club where you are listening to some music, or it can give you the feeling of being at the cinema when watching a movie. If you have a really powerful subwoofer, and you turn it loud, you can easily make your windows to shiver and annoy your neighbors. So that’s why you have to be careful with the volume of the bass, especially if you are living in an apartment surround by neighbors. There are many subwoofer offered by Boston Acoustics and one of them is the VPS 210. It has an incredible power of 500 watts RMS, and also a cool design. No matter what type of music you are listening to, no bass note will go unfelt.

But it is not necessary to have the speakers in your home to enjoy some good sound, you can also place them in your back yard, or near the pool or anywhere else outside the home. And to do this, you will need some outdoor speakers. Boston Acoustics is offering some models of outdoor speakers and they are water and weather proof. So no matter if it is a cold day, a rainy day or a warm day, you can enjoy some music outside the house. One example are the Voyager RK 6T2. They have a very unique design, and they are looking just like a rock. So this way they will blend in the environment of your garden, and it will be quite difficult for other people to notice that this rock is actually a speaker. They come in 3 colors: sandstone, river rock or granite.

If you don’t wish to have speakers and wires all over your desk or your room, then you can choose some in wall or in ceiling speakers. As the name says these speakers will be integrated in the wall or ceiling, so they won’t take any space from your home and they are practically invisible. And it will be quite a nice sensation to have music coming from the ceiling. Since the iPods and iPhones are really popular these days, and also the speakers for these devices, Boston Acoustics is also offering a few models of iPod speakers. These are one piece devices that usually have 2 stereo speakers and a display, so they are looking pretty close to a radio. All you have to do is place the iPod or iPhone in the specific dock, and enjoy all your favorite music. And the speaker will also charge your iPod as it is playing.
