Altec Lansing iPod Speakers

As you may already know, the iPod is a very small and lightweight digital music player. It is so small that you can even forget that you have it in your pocket. But being so small, does not mean it can store just a few songs. Actually the iPods have a much better memory than an old CD player, and you can store hundreds of songs on an iPod. Usually any iPod has a set of headphones which you can use to enjoy your favorite music without disturbing the others around you.

But sometimes you may want to share the music with others…for example when being at a picnic or at a party. So that’s why you must have an iPod dock. An iPod is usually a small device (with the look of a classical stereo player or radio) that has 2 or more integrated speakers, and also a docking place for the iPod.
Like we said before, there are many producers making iPod docks, but today we are going to talk about some Altec Lansing iPod speakers. Altec Lansing is offering many models, and one of them is the T 612. Usually the iPod docks are not that powerful, but this one has quite a good total power of 60 watts RMS (and a peak power of 120 watts). So you can easily use this one for outdoor activities, and even for a party. You can also connect an iPhone to this speaker, and even when the iPhone is ringing it won’t interfere with the speaker, because it is magnetically shielded. The Altec Lansing iPod speaker also comes with a very useful remote control, that will allow you to change the volume and the tracks from distance. So after all it will give quite a nice and powerful sound with quite a good bass too.

There are many other models, but for today we’ll discuss just one more. We’ll take the inMotion iM3C speaker. This one also has quite a nice design, a good sound and also a good bass, due to its Maxx Bass technology. It is compatible with most of the iPod models, and it also comes with a useful remote control. It requires 4 batteries and has a continuous playing time of 24 hours. It has dimensions of 8 inch W x 1.1 inch D x 5.5 inch H, so it’s not that big. It is not compatible just with the iPod, and you can also connect it to other music sources such as a computer, a laptop, a CD or an MP3 player.

The T612 has a lot more power than many other speakers of this size.
So whereas many speakers of these proportions are only any good as a bedroom or kitchen speakers system, the T612 could be used in a much bigger room.
You might even want to make it your living room system.
